Your daughter is required to obtain and certain amount of hours in regular class to qualify for her certification, which I’m sure you are already aware of. The credit hours as far as attendance, would equal one hour each.
However a credit hour being 60 mins, may be a more intensive class to be determined by the scholarship. The credit hours may be in addition to the regular amount of hours required to certify. See if you can get or find out the scholarship rules.

If it is an aproved institute then they should have provided you with the credit hours equivalencies. Though while I was going to college if you missed more than 75% of the semester you couldn’t get full credit. Translating that, it would be around 9 hours for one credit. Though in college you only get full 3 credit hours per semester. Hope it helps, but you should contact the massage therapy institute.

some nerves would control the specific muscles that control either flexion or extension of different parts of the body. like the musculocutaneous nerve supplies the biceps brachii which flexes the elbow while the radial nerve supplies the triceps which extends the elbow

I’m not sure about massage therapy certifications, but as a rule in college 1ech = 1 hour of attendance per week. I’ve attended junior colleges and a university, and that was the standard norm.

There is an additional certification therapists can get for prenatal massage. It depends on your state though, many massage schools cover prenatal massage in their curriculum already. I would just call around and ask before you go somewhere whether they specialize in prenatal massages or not.

Even if they don’t have the extra certification, they will probably be okay to give you a massage as they are trained (if they are licensed to do massage) on which areas to avoid. But, massage therapists trained to do prenatal massage usually know some extra ways to make you more comfortable, and are more accustomed to working with pregnant women and their needs.

To be honest I do not know much about being a massage therapist. But as being a personal trainer you need to be a become personal trainer certified. You will not get hired in any gyms and even if you are going it alone you still need a certification so people can be assured you know what you are doing. No matter where you are in the US. Personal trainer certification companies can mail out materials to you know matter where you are located and then in a few months you take an exam and if you pass you become a pft. Be careful choosing a certification company- there are hundreds maybe even thousands out there. I recently came across one that is $49.99 – do not fall for it. No gym with accept it. and you would be wasting your time and money. I personally like IFPA. Its practical – good info – and I didnt fall asleep trying to read through the manual. All there material is constantly being updated. Personally thats who I would recommend – Good Luck

There is an additional certification in most states for pre-natal massage. Also ask them to make sure they know which pressure points to avoid around ankles, hands and lower calves (these pressure points can cause contractions and bring on early labor!).

you don’t have to be licensed As a massage therapist before doing orthopedic massage program. It would be to your advantage to be certified in massage therapy. The more certifications you have it increases your value in the work place. I can’t tell you what you’re starting salary would be, right now I know many massage therapists who are struggling to make a living because people are not able to pay for therapy. By the time you finish your programs the economy might be much better with more opportunities for you.
